This August, I’m taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to help fight childhood cancer.

Cancer has affected members of my own family, and like many others, I’ve seen firsthand the impact it can have on the people we love. That’s one of the reasons this cause is so important to me.

I’ll be riding not only for the children currently battling cancer, but also for everyone who has been affected by this disease whether they are fighting, have fought, or have lost someone they care about.

Right now, more than 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year in Canada. Kids should be focused on being kids, not fighting for their lives.

Throughout August, I’ll be riding and raising funds to support SickKids Foundation and their work in developing better treatments and finding cures for childhood cancer.
