Well I've ridden 7 of 8 days in the Great Cycle Challenge and have gone over my riding goal by almost 300 km and raised just over 500. to help kids that are fighting cancer.
My goal was to ride 200 km and raise 500 dollars but after reaching my goal of 200 km I made a pledge to ride one km for every dollar that was donated and I'm just just short of that goal but will reach it by the end of the weekend. I'm hoping more people will donate to this very worthy cause and keep my km going higher .
A little about me, I'm 67 years old and a double lung transplant survivor since 2021. When I got my transplant in September of 2021 I was told that if I hadn't received it then that I wouldn't have made it to Christmas so I have a little knowledge of what these kids and their families are going through. The difference is that there is no transplant that can make these kids better. They need your help by funding research too hopefully one day will eliminate this deadly disease.
I had said at the beginning that I would maybe ride a couple a days a week during this challenge and take a few days off then thought more about it and realized that these kids don't get a day off. They live this 24/7 so if possible and my body can keep up I will also ride everyday during the month to raise as much as possible.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and and to the people who have donated and those that are going to in the future, thank you very much
