• Fun Friday Ride
    21 Aug 2026

I had a fun ride on a beautiful Friday.

Lots of sun, lots of wind.

I met a friend and enjoyed the sights.

    Life is good

I want to thank all of my sponsors - my regulars who've been with me every year as well as the new ones. It's people like you who make little kid's live better.

  • If only for one day - Kick Cancer's butt day.
    12 Aug 2026

Most people are going through so many things right now. Everyone carries a burden, regardless of who they are.

I just want to lighten the load for the families of kids with cancer. It is a giant boulder that weighs them down. Let's lift it up a little and help them carry it, if only for one day.

  • Tuesday's smells.
    11 Aug 2026

I like to ride the Welland Canal parkway because it's safer than our roads (although North end has pretty good bike lanes), it's pretty and I get to experience all my senses.

Today I was enjoying how wonderful the wildflowers that edge the canal smell. Butterflies and finches seem to flit and flutter about and enjoy them too. This brings me joy.

There is also the occasional dead fish smell, and most recently more sewage smells. Niagara region has had its drainage system overloaded by mother nature recently.

The good smells definitely towered over the nasty ones, so that makes for a good ride.

  • Monday Funday.
    10 Aug 2026

I had a great ride in the North end and along the canal today. There were VERY strong west winds, but it was sunny and warm.

I only let the fact that neither my GCC nor my Strava app will record my rides frustrate me a little.

    My bike tracked my clicks.

Remember everyone, in 2 days - Wednesday - the Garron family will match our donations up to $1.3M.

That's a great way to make your donation help more kids.

  • Year #8
    5 Aug 2026

Well I'm back again for my 8th year to support these kids.

I was feeling the burden of my annual promise and thinking about all the other things I have on my list to do, and how hard it is.

    Then I remembered why I do this;

#1 so the kids can heal and get better and play and learn.

#2 to get out of my head and think about somebody else.

These kids are carrying their own burdens thrust upon them for no reason I can figure out.

So I ride. For every child who's suffering and healing from cancer.

I can't do much, but this I can do.
