I'm Riding For

My Mom, numerous relatives, friends and humanity

My Mom, numerous relatives, friends and humanity

For MOM - for all you gave us. And to every kid - we give you the best we can! Lost my DAD a few days ago not from cancer. Truth be told he had a great life (98 yrs mostly good health). This August ride is for my Dad. Big supporter of the ride from year 1. Miss both of you but with me for my life time - always.

My Story

5 Aug 2026

YEAR 5

This ride caught my attention a few years ago. I thought I would join, make a contribution, give me some time to think about my "Mom" and stay active. We all have stories from friends about cancer's impact on their lives and families. And the world is changing at a faster rate than ever before thanks to technology. The methods to stop cancer and give kids a chance are closer than ever!

Nobody should have to deal with cancer. Lets' crush cancer! Every Km, every $ can make a difference. GCC riders I will be looking out for you on the road!.

Check out my nephew, Nathan Tratnik. He is riding out of Victoria BC.

Breathe deeply, smile often, find the "good"...

My Dad passed July 29 - great life 98 yrs and great health except the last 6-8 weeks. So the first 12 days of August have been a blur...on the good news side we have end of the month family wedding! And our son will also get married at the beginning of Oct!

It is curious how life takes from you but always finds a way to give something back.

Not sure i will hit 1000km this year. Think i am at about 650km with 9 days to go...I hate coming up short of a goal, even with some challenging circumstances. I will battle because I know there are kids facing far greater challenges than me - and they battle everyday.
