My Story

This August, our team, Hitchens' Ride, is taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

I've joined this challenge as our family has had its fair share of close encounters with cancer. Unfortunately in 2024 my mom's sister (Val) lost her battle with cancer. It's been a really tough few years for that side of our family and I wouldn't wish that amount of heartache on anyone.

And so, in the hopes that others won't have to struggle with this kind of loss in their lives, we hop on our bikes and ride to fight kids' cancer.
