I'm Riding For
ALL Impacted people
Cancer has always sucked! It continues to suck! It will likely suck in the future, but we can make improvements in the lives of all people impacted by his disease. This year I dedicate my ride to YOU and all people impacted by cancer in any way. I draw strength from people who have faced this disease with such courage and grace.
My Story
This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! This will be my ninth consecutive year participating in this challenge.
Although this ride is specifically for Kid’s cancers, I’m riding for everyone who ever fought or was impacted by cancer in any way.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you.

Local Road Ride
26 Aug 2026Back home and out for a quick ride to get the cobwebs out of my legs after four hours in the truck.
Rode the local roads and timed it just right, to ride through the "Movie Set" while they were on some type of break, so there were no traffic interruptions.
I had one "Unhappy Driver" who didn't like that he was stuck behind for 8 seconds or so. He was so mad about being held up that he waited for 10 more seconds at the stop sign. When I started with: "Hey sorry about having to go out and around that rough road, but it could have made me crash" he didn't seem to care a launched into foul language and yelling. I told him there was a large pedal on the left near his feet that would help him slow down next time. He didn't like that either. LOL. Anyway he took off southbound on Main Street and what do you know, his truck was in the LCBO. I saw him again a short while parked outside of Valu Mart. I'm going to give the guy some grace and assume that he was DRY & HANGRY. LOL.
Another truck pulled out in front of me as I was Northbound on Main St. causing me to lock up from about 38 km/h to keep from hitting him broadside.
I took the hint and came home. Maybe today was not my day to be out and about for too long. Home safe and sound so that's what counts.
As always thanks for your continued support.

Get Up And Gravel
20 Aug 2026I got out for a Gravel ride tonight and worked up and down the hills without any danger.
In a parking lot, I just turning around and the gravel was soft; down I went.
No major injuries, (other than my pride) but I’m now calling the ride Blood, Sweat and Gears.
This ride puts me over the 75% complete status for my mileage pledge.
Looking forward to a strong finish.

Recovery Ride?
18 Aug 2026Out for a ride this morning with what I am calling a "Recovery Ride". Legs were a little sore from yesterday so I decided to go out for a nice easy peddle. I've determined that there are too many hills here for that to actually happen. LOL. It seems that every direction has hills in the mix. Not exactly a nice relaxing ride, but I'm happy to have more KMS in today just the same.
I keep moving towards my goal and as I do my confidence of reaching it contiues to grow.

Logging Local KMS
17 Aug 2026I rode locally again today. For anyone who saw me going up and down Main St., that was all part of it, with rides up to the golf course, out to Chisholm and out to Nipissing. When it was all said and done 52 kms were added to my totals today. I'm chipping away at the pledge and will get it done.
