My Story

20 Jul 2026

This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Those who know me know that I've been doing my best to get out and get biking more. If you also know me, you know that I care. This seems like a good opportunity to raise funds for a good cause and to do it while out and about. Since it'll be on my ebike, I've upped the kms that i think i could do on a motorless one. As I do not have the biggest facebook presence I would appreciate if you share this. If I meet the donation goal I'll donate 50 dollars and for every 100 dollars over I'll personally donate 25 dollars. Looking to get a camera for the bike to share my rides, but I will be updating this with any and all pictures i do take.

Cheers, stay safe, and share the love. We are all in this together.

Thank you.

  • One week to go!
    24 Aug 2026

So just a short little update, shout outs and well wishes.

After four weeks of working evenings I'm finally on the morning shift which means, weather permitting, I'll hit the 600km. Honestly I will do it no matter what.

Big thanks to Kaz and Carson for their generosity. Only another 105$ to get to the goal. Arigatou and thank you gentlemen.

Funny thing if I do make my goal I will be sent a Great Cycling Challenge biking jersey when (not if) I hit that 500$ target. If I do I will obviously post videos with it, wear it to work etc.

So thanks again for all the support. Keep your feet on the pedals and eyes on the road and stay safe everyone.

So, today I had no destination in mind and no overall plan. I sat at the end of my driveway for a few minutes contemplating where I would go today. I didn't figure it out then but just decided to ride.

Went to Neil's pond and then back to the Pearl along the trails, stopping at Canadian Tire to get some lubricant for my bike chain. It's been squeaking lately so I have to up my game on that.

Then down Brookfield road and onto the closed extension of Gushue's. I must say driving on fresh pavement with no cars or other obstacles is a solid thing.

Then downtown to check out the bicycle shops. Found out none of the ones I visited stocks the parts I need or they won't sell you parts if you don't have a bike bought from then. So I'll have to go to an online retailer to find one. Phooey.

From then it was Freshwater to Oleary and then the overpass of Thorburn and the Outer Ring Road and finally home via the highway.

Not the most exciting trip but I did find a tour of the three cities to be quite a pleasurable experience.

    As always happy trails everyone.

  • A Run to Holyrood
    16 Aug 2026

It was quite the day for a spin on the ebike today. For the first leg it started raining but by the end it was glorious sunshine.

Hah I finally found out how far the bike can go. That's about 77km.

I managed to get 79km to add to the total which is now 311/600kms for the month. Not too shabby.

I do have to say my legs are like jelly. I always do the pedaling so it's like doing a 5 hour spin class but with obstacles 😁.

I'm also at $338/500 of my donation goal so if you can and want to support a good cause let's do this. If you can't well just show support however you can ☺️

Hope everyone has been having happy trails.
